I got this to replace the air stones in my tank which were constantly getting clogged. My existing decor was looking worn and I wanted a tank night light so I figured I'd kill three birds with one stone. Pros: * Well-made fittings. The pump and light seem solid, and the resin volcano shines better than most ceramic decorative items. * Excellent bubble performance. This creates a lot of bubbles, but the volcano does a good job of pushing them straight up so they don't overwhelm the aquarium. * Good lighting. The LED is easily overpowered by my skylight, but that's not a disadvantage as I have a powerful LED skylight. At night, when the main lighting is switched off, the red LED really "glows". It illuminates the bubbles with an eerie light, and transparent cracks in the Harz volcano create the illusion of lava flowing down the mountain. It's a very neat effect. *Hydor includes suction cups with integrated clamps for air tubing, aerator motor and LED power cord. * Volcano measures approximately 5 x 5 x 5 inches. tank, but if you have a larger tank with larger decals it may not look to scale. Cons: * While suction cups are good for cable management, relatively thick cables can be difficult to manage in a small tank like mine (Fluval Edge) for air entering the aerator. the motor hums and vibrates in the reservoir in all positions except fully open, with full filter flow there is a noticeable suction noise that is louder than my old air pump. compared to a greatly improved bubble flow and excellent lighting effects. My Fluval Edge tank has a very small opening. r above, so good water aeration is important for healthy fish. This is fully compliant.
