After reading other reviews on this product and finding people who had the cheaper plastic ones I was apprehensive about ordering them. I am pleased to report that it is original metal. Versions previously seen on "As Seen on TV" in their original packaging. I'm not very good at putting them through the washer and dryer. I bought them because I feared they would eventually run out. My main use is to replace loose buttons on pants. They are perfect for that.
