They are sold with lacing. In fact, these are slip-ons with a very light elastic with closed loops instead of laces. There is no way to tighten the elastic to adjust the fit. You can tie a knot in a rubber band, but it will be difficult to untie and the rubber band is not strong enough for this purpose. They are also referred to as GO Walk, but I felt the forefoot cushioning was not up to the usual level of GO Walk. I suppose I could have cut the elastic and put in real laces, but I felt I didn't have to and the lace holes didn't look substantial enough for the purpose. It also felt like a pucker from a reinforcement used to reinforce or shape the inside of the sock and I figured it could either be a nuisance or break easily. They probably fit some people and I see how another reviewer found them to be sneaker replacements. Unfortunately, I'm not willing to pay a high price for something I didn't expect.
