The compact design is ideal for small spaces or when travelling. It picks up stations over 70 miles away with great clarity. The aux jack works as it should so I can plug in my iPod when I don't want to listen to the radio. The sound is good, but not outstanding. As long as you're in the same room as the radio, it's fine, but it won't fill your house with sound. I took it on a hike and it works great for on site camping. It's loud enough to be heard by the fire, but you don't have to worry too much about disturbing other campers nearby. Another practical feature is that the cable can be stowed in the radio. If the radio does not have batteries, the cord can be rolled up and stored here. When you do this, fold and fold the antenna into a nice rectangle for easy storage or packing. I just wish it had a watch on it but that wasn't part of the description so don't blame the manufacturer for that. If this is what you want from a radio, this may not be what you need. But overall this radio is great and can handle multiple drops of 4 feet or less without sacrificing quality.
