Surprisingly, it smells bad.
I really like this tripod and would have kept it if it hadn't smelled so bad! If the manufacturer could promise me one or even two products that didn't smell bad, I would buy them immediately. But I have to return it. I tried to air it. Leave in the sun. Nothing helps. That's so strange. It could be rubber. I would love this tripod if it didn't smell and give it 5 stars!
