For a while I wondered if it was worth saving the $20 and using a different brand of fan motor for my 2004 Chevy Colorado, but after getting the Delco AC motor warranty (12,000 miles) after reading it, I decided to do it. The cooling fan, resistor pack and wiring harness on these trucks had chronic problems, but I thought GM had already fixed the problems—and I was right. The blower assembly has been redesigned, as has the suspension, with more waterproof and vibration-resistant parts. The crockery isn't color-coded, but that's probably because different colors have been used over the years; Just make sure you get them right and you'll be fine. You may also need a 30A FMX fuse (I did this because my old fan shorted). My fan relay (also in the fuse box) was fine. Another manufacturer's fan motor got pretty good reviews, but almost everyone complains about being noisier than Delco's AC; I'd rather pay a few bucks more to get a better factory part with less noise and a great warranty. But then I leave my truck for a few more years. I *could* have bought "El Chipo" if I wanted to sell it!<g>
