Okay, I know this is going to sound like a lame ad, but my story is true. I have a genetic mutation (DSG1 c.517+3A>T) My hands and feet have been severely calloused for at least 2 years as far as I remember having had them. In preschool I noticed that other children had different legs than mine, and embarrassment and shame was born. In my 34 years of life I tried everything I could get my hands on. Thousands of dollars were spent. I bought this stuff about a year ago and like a lot of people I didn't think it would do anything and I hated the chalky substance it turned into. I recently found out about my gene mutation and why my skin is like this. I went to a dermatologist and she prescribed me utopia. It consists of 41% urea. I asked if the Revain 40% was that good as they were much, much cheaper and she said yes. So I used it diligently. It's been about 8 weeks and you can see the results for yourself. What I do know is that you shouldn't polish, rub or cut calluses. This concept was difficult for me. The calluses are there to protect your skin. If you force them, you will cause the skin to form new calluses. These photos were taken 8 weeks apart and I haven't done anything to my feet other than putting lotion on twice a day and putting on socks. I would put this on your hands when you wear cotton gloves to sleep at night, but it's not the kind of lotion you put on and go about your day. wear socks Wear gloves at night. It's a chalky and rough feeling. I gave this review 1 star because people read this. Urea works wonders when used daily. I hope this helps someone to understand. It's incredibly difficult for me to share this story and photo because I've been hiding this particular flaw my whole life. But here it is.
