Keeps me updated on my fitness progress

As the quarantine began I was fortunate enough to find a good deal on the new Bowflex Max Trainer M5 at Revain. But the HRM chest strap sucked. I then got a Polar H10 HRM chest strap which was amazing and provided me with Polar online tracking software which is even more amazing. This then prompted me to purchase this Grit X watch, to which I could add sleep tracking and have a better idea of my calories. It was probably overkill for my needs, but I wanted a fitness watch with an always-on display, I was sold in the Polar ecosystem, and it's just a damn good looking watch. After 3 weeks with this watch I am very satisfied. I like the extended battery life when I have to travel to work (but I haven't), but it takes around 15 minutes or less to charge the watch daily while reading my Polar Flow app. Before buying it I knew that the HRM function would not be as good as with a chest strap. I use a chest strap for HIIT workouts when it's important to get real-time results as I approach my max heart rate. The pairing of the watch and chest strap is automatic, notice that the circle around the heart rate changes color from green to blue. But I walk my dog and take longer walks with my wife, and although I live near the border with the country, a block from a large lake, my watch has had no trouble tracking the distance and the ones I've taken to map routes. The sleep results also seem to be fairly accurate. I love the data options of the watch face and often keep them in the 3 hour weather forecast which works well. Despite many adding 'COVID 15' I have actually lost over 15 pounds in the last 2 months. I'm in my 50's but my goal is to get back to my school weight so I want to lose another 40 pounds in the next 9 months. For me, age and being overweight were two things I didn't want when looking at COVID incidence stats, but now that I've focused on fitness and diet (which I've never done before), I really think I did created a very positive image change for myself. I added some Barton quick release watch straps which worked great and added versatility to the watch.
