Review on πŸš— Newward Car Phone Mount: Ultimate 2-in-1 Long Arm Windshield & Dashboard Holder for iPhone, Galaxy, Huawei and More by Mikey Jackson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

too many good things . .

I like to think I've found the perfect car mount for my phone. While this one is better than some of the others, it falls short in some respects. Pros: Holds phone securely, does not require access to CD slots, does not break air vents, clip is large enough for large phones with larger batteries. .Not Good: Holds phone TOO securely, suction cup sometimes comes loose, long flex bar doesn't work in cars without big windshields and wide dashboards (like old pickups). The clip that holds the phone is spring loaded. loaded and let me tell you: it won't leave your phone for nothing! Sounds good until you have to live with it. My Samsung Note 3 is so secure in this clip that I'm wondering if it's damaged. Sometimes I hear him squeak. I use it in an old Toyota pickup. So that it doesn't hang around somewhere halfway up the switch in the cockpit, this can only be adjusted by moving the suction cup towards the passenger side. This seems to put the suction cup under another load that it wasn't designed to take. I had to re-tap the cup several times. Overall I would rate this mount as "better than nothing" for my personal use. It worked during a very long trip to provide some slight GPS support, so I shouldn't complain too much. But every time I had to plug or unplug my phone, I groaned a little. For personal use I would really give more than two or three for the reasons above. However, if you drive a modern car with a long, sloping windshield and have stronger fingers than me, this could be the phone holder of your dreams. So four stars in total.
