Review on 🐾 Convenient and Efficient: Ideal Pet Products Ruff-Weather Pet Door Wall Kit, Medium by Russell Galbreath

I bought a medium sized Ruff Weather door along with a wall kit and am posting this review for both. This door is well designed in many ways. The magnets are strong, the parts fit together well, the valves are easy to remove for cleaning or replacement, and the outside air is tight! I couldn't even blow it out with a blower. I am impressed with the build quality of everything and the simple design with a door, wall kit and sliding panel to close. Please note that the wall kit is only suitable for Ideal Ruff Weather doors, not original doors. Read the title before you buy anything! My dog, Coton de Tulear, 13lbs, is terrified of change, has learned to cope quickly over the past few days and loves the treats that come with the door. I installed the door through a 2" thick plaster wall by following the instructions that came with the door and wall kit. Finding an empty space in the wall and cutting through the plaster and plywood behind it is scary, but not that difficult with the right tools. Another reviewer named G. Smith mentioned that he first made a small hole in the wall and looked around to make sure nothing was in the way. Board on the outside wall in the first spot I chose. The template was accurate and very useful and after using a drill press, utility knife, angle grinder, circular saw and handsaw I installed it and it worked and looked fine. Be sure to seal the places where the parts connect internally. in case of heavy rain, which can penetrate something into the tunnel. The vinyl gasket on the outside looks like it will seal well, but I sealed it because my wife wanted it. When I cut the long screws from the wall kit, I used the 1/4" x 20 nut trick detailed in the wall kit instructions, after cutting them with the same blade I used to cut the plaster. I I also cut a few fingers on the sharp edges of the bolts filing the arrows or putting on gloves etc. Anyway I am very satisfied with this purchase and look forward to a better night's sleep.
