I tried installing it at work but found it would take a bit more effort so I took the chair home. (I bought my own chair for work and it needed to be a bit taller.) I ended up removing the seat, placing the base between two very close outer soft pine work tables and pounding the base until it fell apart. With the new base, the chair lets me stand on tiptoe in the lowest position, which was exactly what I wanted. It was an ordinary short office chair. I have longer legs. I also love taller chairs like chairs. I just added 5" wheels to my enclosed desk at work to make it mobile and my chair needed to be at least 4" taller. Highly recommended. Well made and seems to be holding up. Note, however, that once the chair has been assembled and used for a while, this is not a quick, instant install, as you will have to take everything apart.
