Review on Airhawk Cruiser R Seat Small by John Anaya

Perfect fit for custom seat

I own/drive a Triumph Bobber with a bespoke seat consisting of a metal pan, a thin layer of foam and heavy leather padding all stitched together. The seat is designed for beauty and only gives you about 30 minutes of travel before it becomes uncomfortable. I drive the Triumph to work almost every day and there are several construction sites with bumpy, uneven roads. I should mention that despite being a softtail monoshock, the bike only offers about 1.5 inches of travel. This is much better than a hardtail, but gives it the character of a hardtail on rough roads. I was able to take the bike to work in these conditions because I had a Gen 1 AirHawk about 12 years ago. It worked fine but recently a seam came undone rendering the last one unusable. I bought the AirHawk Cruiser-R Small which has a perfect fit with no bulges. Only a small puff of air is required to provide the most comfortable cushioning. Now I can easily get through an hour or two. I really believe the AirHawk R-small could be worth a few dollars less - say $75 and would have wiped out the competition. Still, it's a decent product. I can buy a cheaper foam pad and compare.

Pros
  • Made from PU, it has a breathable elastic outer shell and a non-slip urethane base to protect the seat.
Cons
  • Expensive
