Review on 🧼 Bissell Big Green Professional Carpet Cleaner: A Powerful Solution for Deep Carpet Cleaning by Nuntawat Bridges

Great cleaner but terrible production

Well I've been using my Big Green machine for over 3 years now and here are the pros and cons. Good Qualities: It does an excellent job of cleaning carpets. I have three kids at home, a dog and a cat, and they spill it all on my carpets. There have been a few accidents with the dog, but this thing works. Just don't forget to vacuum it with a regular vacuum cleaner beforehand. The machine isn't really designed to pick up items, just pull out dirt and stains. The Bad: Hose nozzles don't do well on upholstery and tend to get things very wet. It may seem strange, but if something does not come out or is too wet, I lift the whole machine and put it on furniture, only use it on flat parts, can't be tilted. If you don't lower the handle, the brush won't snag and will suction much better than a hose barb. It's also getting a lot drier. There was some kind of ball bearing in the hose holder. Mine tends to fall out, this bearing depresses the flow indicator when connected to a vacuum so the water is diverted to a hose instead of regular ground. If you lose this bearing because it fell out (which I did) you will no longer be able to use the hose as water will no longer flow out of the hose. Do not use hot water. The flow indicator is screwed up like crap and the hot water will dissolve the glue holding the two halves together and you'll get a leak at the top of the vacuum and no more water coming out where it's supposed to. Contact pins for the connector that goes to the open motor on the board. In this case, the brush roller no longer rotates. I currently have 2 broken pins and cannot find a part number or replacement pins. I have contacted Bissell and am hoping they can help me get new pins. (In the end I'll probably solder and insulate the wires to the repair board.) Conclusion: I consider myself very handy, so I search and repair all my appliances, cars, houses, etc. This machine cleans carpets very well, but it has many defects and manufacturing problems. I would avoid this car and spend your $400 elsewhere. Tips if you already own or are about to receive it: 1) Do not use hot water (this will damage the flow indicator) 2) If the carpet is unstained or the spilled liquid is still wet, do not do this. Use a floor roller (hold up the handle). I saw a photo of another reviewer where she was impressed with everything she pulled out of the carpet. In the photo mostly the fibers of the carpet itself. The roller should be saved for deep cleaning of stains as all rollers damage the carpet by pulling out the fibers. 3) After cleaning the carpets with soap, empty and rinse the storage tank, fill with clean water and nothing else, and walk over the carpet again. Residual soap acts as an adhesive and holds dirt in place, so make sure all of the soap is removed and remove quickly after cleaning. This keeps your carpets cleaner for longer.
