One of the mics in the first set I bought didn't work so I had to return it. They provided me another one and it works fine. I live in an apartment so I didn't want to invest in karaoke because I didn't want the neighbors to complain about the noise. In fact, they work very well if you don't connect music to them. It's best to turn on the music on the TV and sing along into the microphone. I also recommend using the echo feature, which increases the volume. It's not what you want when you expect something loud and clear, like a real karaoke set with a microphone and speakers.
