After years of listening to the JBL Charge 2+ and regretting the lack of top-mid and anything like highs, I decided I had to do better. Much better. I got to the point where I stopped listening to the Charge 2+. After several months of looking at many reviews and listening to others at Bestbuy and other retailers, I decided to buy the Creative Labs Bluetooth speaker, the iRoar Go, without hearing anything. Previous Bluetooth speakers received great reviews and did fairly well on YouTube videos compared to others. I still wanted good sound in a small package, portability, long-lasting battery, and balance. Well, I think I found it in Creative Labs' iRoar Go. I am very impressed with this solid little performer. In just 2 days I finally gave up on the Charge 2+. It took about 5 hours for the iRoar Go to sound its best. So yes, you'll want it to burn for a bit before actually testing it, but it's worth the wait. I can hear all the music I've really missed JBL. While the Charge2+ excelled in quiet grunts, it was over the top at the expense of everything else. It sounded like he was wearing a wet washcloth. iRorar Go, not so much. The sound was open, clean and detailed AND had bass. There was a balance there, except maybe hearing certain vocal settings that emphasized the higher frequencies. There are several sound settings and it didn't take me long to find what I liked. Again, for the $150 I spent, I'm very satisfied. Another feature that I found useful and necessary is an app that allows me to change the sound to my liking. This is very helpful in the initial stages to find the sound you want. All basic language settings as well as equalizer settings are made via the app. My only regret is that Creative didn't give me the option to change the speaker settings when using my laptop via Bluetooth. For some inexplicable reason, the app only works when the iRoar Go is connected via USB and not Bluetooth. This was a bug that I hope will be fixed. I'd also like to see more equalizer options right on the device itself so I can at least switch between voice options in case I don't want "ultra wide" voice to be my only choice. I love this perfect-sized little speaker mostly for its sound, but there are plenty of other features you'll love if you need them, so yes, put this on your list of Bluetooth speakers under $200 for listening. Especially if you have a JBL Charge of any generation. It just blows him away. For €150 you can't go wrong. At least for me it's cool!
