I used this tape to repair a central air conditioner insulation covering a 3/4 inch copper pipe from the house to the air conditioner. The previous rubber foam insulation cracked and became brittle over the years. I wanted the best solution. I bought new pipe insulation but it was notched on one side to fit over the pipe. I wanted it to be waterproof and UV protected so after much research I bought this silicone strap. That's great. It's really self-melting and hard to take apart if you make a mistake. I wrapped the whole roll around the insulation and it worked great. No leakage after several showers, totally waterproof. I bought a second roll for another project I have in mind, my washing machine drain hose which sometimes leaks when the drain pump drains water. At the moment I'm using duct tape, but silicon tape works much better. I can only recommend this band! It is great!
