Works as stated in the Adhesives, Sealants & Lubricants section

I was using this to patch a garden hose when a kink I didn't notice loosened the stain and blew out. The patch works great with normal water pressure. This hose isn't used for high pressure so I don't know if it will leak under those circumstances, but for a garden hose that's only used for watering plants in the garden it's great. I wrapped the duct tape tightly around the hose a few inches before the hole, along the length of the hole and a few inches beyond, and I had no problems with the…

You have to work the first time and for a long time.

I am a radio amateur. I have antenna towers and my radio club has towers, some three hundred feet tall. When we install or repair cables and connections, it has to be somewhere with water and weather. It has to be done right. This type of product is our approach to sealing those joints with tape, followed by thick tape and caulk. As you can see from the gentleman at the top of the tower, you don't want to do this on a regular basis. Use good materials and get it right the first time.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • All right

Minimal swearing, mostly smiling

It's quite impressive. To be honest, I wasn't particularly thrilled, paid just under $20 a roll, but ended up ordering a second one. When you touch another element, you work fast and smart or with your toast. It was my first time doing it and I might have said some things Grandma wouldn't like, but other than that it's good. I've seen some comments suggesting it made a huge difference, but in fact I've found the opposite. I thought it would be a stretch to expand on this material - not so much.

Great for arthritis hands

I'm a wood carver with over 25 years experience making large pieces of wood from small ones. In recent years, arthritis has taken a toll on my grip, forcing me to tighten my grip on tools and a hammer. I came across a carpenter friend who was using silicone tape on his hammer handle due to arthritis, so I decided to give my hammer a try. I looked at Revain and chose this brand because it was 1 1/2 inches wide. It worked so well with my hammer that I tried wrapping it around the tool handles…

Also works well on domestic AC copper lines!

Bought for my daughter home. Her dog somehow bit through the outside of the copper pipe from the compressor and made a small hole. HVAC charged her nearly $1,000 for repairs. Since my daughter wouldn't let me wrap a carcass in a dog and to be honest that dog probably isn't rated for PSI from what I heard the thing squeak, we needed another solution. So I got this silicone band. We watched a few YouTube videos on how to properly wind the line. Five minutes later my daughter had AC again. Still…

Works but a third pointer would be nice

I wanted to measure water flow so I bought a sensor that connects to garden hoses. The sensor has a very short electrical cable that terminates in a non-waterproof connector. I figured this connection would be too close to running and possibly seeping water (good guess!) so I wrapped it in plastic tape. But this tape is not waterproof and my application requires water to flow unattended for hours. So I bought this tape and wrapped it over the tape, following the included instructions for…

This silicone band works great!

I used this tape to repair a central air conditioner insulation covering a 3/4 inch copper pipe from the house to the air conditioner. The previous rubber foam insulation cracked and became brittle over the years. I wanted the best solution. I bought new pipe insulation but it was notched on one side to fit over the pipe. I wanted it to be waterproof and UV protected so after much research I bought this silicone strap. That's great. It's really self-melting and hard to take apart if you make a…

Life (House?) Saver

I thought my washing machine in the basement was leaking until I felt water dripping onto my head. As I climbed to the top, I found that the connections from the kitchen sink stem to the drain and siphon had come apart. The connections were mostly broken/mismatched/missing washers (thanks pinball restorers). I had successfully used self-adhesive silicone tape to fix a similar sink, so I decided to give it another try in the kitchen. I ordered a Poxicast band because Revain guaranteed overnight…
