Review on πŸ’» Macally Ultra Slim Wireless Keyboard for Laptop/Desktop - Full Size Computer Keyboard Wireless with Numeric Keypad - Windows PC Compatible - Black by Gary Duncan

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not my preference; no switch; seems light and unreliable

From the start I'll admit that my rating is based on what works for me and what I don't like but might just be perfect for others. Overall I found it to be a good keyboard, but not as reliable and functional as my current one, the Logitech K520. This keyboard has been a workhorse for years, but most keys are losing their drawn character; Not a big problem since I learned how to be a blind typist a long time ago, but now some of those keys are getting pretty sticky too. So I got this keyboard as a replacement. Setup was easy, it worked right out of the box (once you set up the battery properly), but there are differences that make it less powerful than my old keyboard. First, I love that the Logitech keyboard has an on/off switch. , so if I don't use it for a long time, I can turn off the keyboard to save battery. This keyboard does not have a switch, but "eventually" will "turn off" the keyboard if not used for a period of time. I just liked the convenience of the switch, and I'll admit it's something I should have paid attention to when looking at it. The keyboard itself doesn't seem "robust" to me; Maybe because it's thinner and slimmer than Logitech and I just need to get used to it. There's no wrist rest, as the bottom edge under the bottom row of buttons is only about half an inch thick; I feel like I have huge hands with this keyboard. This is just my opinion on aesthetics and usage; You might not prefer a two- or three-inch palm rest on the bottom, or a heavier device (relatively speaking). I also found these keys to be very soft in comparison. I like a "clickier" keyboard with more "spring" than "mud" when typing. I took a chance on this keyboard since it was less than $15. I'll keep it as a backup in case Logitech dies, but for now I'll go back to my old keyboard. I gave it three stars because I found it average; I think that's a fair estimate based on my needs not being completely satisfied with a working keyboard.
