I'm giving this product one star because it doesn't and can't work. I learned this lesson the hard way when I bought it and figured I could control my Celestron NexStar 8SE telescope remotely from my laptop using an extended USB cable long enough to take it from my laptop to use from home. Unfortunately, the maximum USB cable length is set at 16 feet due to the limitations of USB itself and the inability to carry proper voltage over distances greater than 16 feet. You'll need to invest in some sort of ethernet adapter if you want to go beyond 16 inches. Simply put, you can't just make a USB cable any length you want, there are limits. So it's not that this product was a lemon or that the seller was ripping people off on purpose, it's just that this product just can't work as it should because it's too long for USB. Please do yourself a favor and don't waste your money on this; Use Ethernet if you need an enhanced or extended USB connection.
