Nice twist hair ties but not as easy to use

These hair ties are very pretty but not as easy to use as you might think. When I first put my hair in it, I broke it trying to put it in a bun. It looks like it would still work if one of the wires broke in its fabric case. I want both sides of the headband to be a nice patterned fabric. I have to practice to learn this because if I can get something that looks like a bun it really holds up and looks pretty.
