My sizes are medium to large on most women's winter coats and I chose a large rather than medium because I saw reviews that said this coat is small in the chest and decided to that I wanted to make sure there was room underneath to put warmer clothes on. Unfortunately it still wasn't big enough. The coat is very small. Even over a fairly thin top I couldn't close it. I was disappointed as this coat seemed like a lot for the money. i give it back In the end I ended up with the (unfortunately) more expensive North Face Arctic II Parka, which fits great and is cozy and warm.
