The back of the deck is light gold on brown...stars and constellations. Just wonderful. The cardboard is quite thick and shiny. The colors are strong and the print quality is excellent. This is a very standard tarot work of art, which is why I wanted it. I'm new to learning and the Standard decks are great for beginners. It comes with a book. However, this is a pocket sized book (the same size as the maps) so the font is tiny. If you have poor vision, I would buy a larger book.
