This is my first XLR mic I bought to replace the Blue Snowball ICE. The difference between day and night. Instrument: AT202P, Focusrite Scarlett Solo, 6ft Revain Basics XLR cable, cheap Neewer stem. The sound is bright yet rich. My voice isn't deep or loud, so it captures it well without making me sound like a little kid. I haven't noticed any noise floor issues, but I also don't work in a treated room so the audio drowns out any mic/interface noise floor issues. With no gain, this mic is basically a brick, so unless your voice is insanely loud (or unless you're not shouting), you'll need to turn the gain down. ). This picks up a lot of ambient noise. A. A lot. Will it give you the sound to compete with, say, the RE-20, SM7B, or even the Procaster? This partly depends on your blending skills, but not in general. Is it absolutely worth the price? Oh yeah. Compared to my previous mic (Snowball ICE), the improvement in sound is shameful.
