For plantar fasciitis, I've tried a variety of products, most of which included raised or soft arch support. At the end of the day my legs felt like I was walking on big bumps and my arches were still tight. Also, I drive a few hours a day, which doesn't help with good circulation. I found these socks to provide enough compression and support without chafing or pilling. The tight bandage on the arch of my foot has loosened and my legs aren't as tired anymore. They don't overheat my feet when wearing them with socks. Another reviewer noted that the socks have "L" and "R" on the outside of the sock to provide compression in the right place. I didn't find anything on the packaging that indicated this. After washing and drying they were fine. Socks are cheap.
