Review on πŸ’» Dell Optiplex 5040-SFF Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, DVD, Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (Refurbished) by Ron Collins

Great price/condition

The computer received was an Optiplex 5050 not the 5040 in the description. However, the 5050 is handy if not identical to the 5040, so there's no problem here. This was quite relevant in the software. An external USB CD/DVD reader/writer was sent even though no CD/DVD was installed. Great bonus and perfect for my needs. The keyboard was a regular one, not Dell, but I've had enough Dell and Microsoft keyboards in my use so no problem here. My particular computer had additional VGA support, although I only use two DP ports for my dual display. Another very important fact. The seller is a Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher - in my experience this is a better product than just a Renewal product. The device itself was perfect. Absolutely no signs of wear, no traces of dust. The operating system comes on a 2.5" SSD as described in the product description; and there are no problems with activating the digital license. There is plenty of room to expand the storage, as there are cables for two SATA devices, as well as space and clip for M.2 are present NVMe 2280 SSD: Windows 10pro 20H2 OS was quite new, although the partition configuration did not allow UEFI boot, only legacy boot, I believe there are ways to add UEFI boot function, but that requires further experimentation. This Windows 11 device will require little effort in the future (like UEFI boot) but the machine is fully capable of Windows 11 support including TPM, memory, processor speed etc. Bottom line - excellent Value for money, excellent condition, reliable options and good future flexibility.
