Review on πŸŒ€ Corsair LL Series LL140 RGB 140mm Dual Light Loop RGB LED PWM Fan: Ultimate Single Pack Cooling Solution - CO-9050073-WW by David Dreher

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great fans, get the job done

So I bought 6 of these to overhaul all the fans in my 760T (there is an extra 120mm fan under the removable drive bay). Of all these fans, I really only encountered one problem. The ones I installed in my radiator, front and bottom, all worked fine. The one I installed on the back of the case was a real problem. I had to manually screw the screws into the plastic (the included screws). I wish I knew I would do this beforehand but I took it out and tightened all 4 screws a few times and was then able to install it from the back. In terms of cooling, I usually put all my stuff on performance mode, so they're not exactly silent, but when you put them on silent, they get quiet. They are responsible for cooling the i7 7700K (with Kraken X62 AIO) and the GTX 1080. My CPU temps are noticeably cooler, probably around 7-10 degrees cooler than when using the stock fans that came with Kraken. Both the GTX and i7 7700K now have idle temperatures around 25 degrees Celsius, where they used to be around 30-35 degrees when idling. The lighting is amazing, they are very bright and light up my case really well. One thing I do complain about is that in order for these fans to face the right direction for the "pong" light effect, the side with the cable has to face the outside of the case. Because of this, if you want to use the pong effect, you'll have to find a way to hide the wiring or just not use it. I can't say it's too important because I don't use it personally and Corsair gives you a range of different color effects. To control the light, I have a fan hub for the Corsair Lighting Node Pro that I received with the Corsair light strips, which came with a pack of three that I also purchased. But because of the way Corsair sells them, if you get either bundle, you'll have to pay extra to get the Lighting Node Pro, or spend even more to buy the fans individually. It's ok but I have 2 Corsair Lighting Node Pros that I don't need and most likely I'm trying to resell them. TRUE. You will need a Lighting Node Pro that plugs into an onboard USB socket which is around 40-50 and has a fan hub plugged into it. Yes there are 2 wires attached to each fan and I have 6 so essentially I have 12 wires. Could it have been done better, yes. Is it necessary for my needs? No, because I have more than enough space in the back to install them. Another complaint I've seen is that people can't get the fans to light up, even with software. I discovered this when installing my Corsair LED strips: you need to go into the Corsair Link software, find the lights, press the + button and apply. Otherwise only 1 fan is running. It's frustrating at first if you didn't get it, but now you do. For certain lighting effects it is important that the fans are connected to the fan controller IN THE ORDER. Also, DO NOT skip a port on a fan hub or any LED after the skipped port will not light up. For example, don't set it to 1 2 4 5. (4 and 5 won't work.) Make sure they are 1 2 3 4 5 etc. Overall I think these fans were worth the money to replace the stock fans. the fans that the case and the Kraken X62 came with. Sorry this review is a bit scattered, just had surgery and was on meds. But if you've seen it and are having trouble with your fans, I strongly encourage you to read it for advice and don't hesitate to reply if you have any other questions.
