Bad fit for E53 BMW X5

Can't say I like it because it's bad fit compared to the OEM unit. let me explain. Despite the fact that the size and thickness are the same (or close enough), they have one significant drawback. On the sides of the filter is a plastic "guide" with "channels" that fit into grooves on the inside of the box where the filter is to be placed. Well, on this TYC device, the rails are locked at the ends. when it needs to be opened to keep it from slipping. I wrestled with it for a good 20 minutes trying to figure out why it wouldn't work and compared it next to an OEM unit and figured out why. So I had to cut off the end of it to "open" it so it could slide in. And even after that it doesn't go all the way in so I had to press down on the valve/lid to be able to secure the 3 plastic pins to keep the thing closed. Next time I will buy OEM. I figured it was just a charcoal filter for the interior, not that important to go OEM. I was wrong. The fit is the problem. Save yourself the headache and go to the OEM unless you want to hack the product you just got just to make it work. ><
