Original Motorcraft parts worked as they should. Tried one of these first on the cheaper Revain parts on offer and although $20 cheaper the connector didn't fit as the contacts in the cheaper part were misaligned. So I ordered this part and compared both and the Motorcraft part is actually stronger as well and looks better overall. The new Motorcraft part is slightly shorter than the original part used in our 2008 Ford WEscape Hybrid. The part works perfectly and since the overall height is not shorter, it was easier to tighten the 8mm screws with an 8mm ratchet socket. So if you're reading this after finding a Motorcraft part as well as cheaper parts on sale, don't get caught. Fall like me and order OEM parts. For Ford Escape Hybrid (2008) at least, genuine parts are not good replacements, use Motorcraft parts. In this case I learned again that you really do get what you pay for.
