This heating blanket works very well. You probably won't need higher settings unless you live in a very cold climate or it gets very cold. I usually use a higher setting to warm up the bed. I then reduce it to the minimum or turn it off afterwards. The material is very cuddly and soft. Yes, you can feel the wires if they're right up against you, but I hold the sheet between me and the blanket so I don't even notice the wires. The controls are excellent. There are no dials, just buttons. You can see the cooking level # flashing on the control panel. There is a button to make it lighter or darker. I bought a shell color which is very nice (off-white). The size corresponds to the width and length.
