At around $30 this is a great product! The good quality sockets feel well made and the bulbs are a good size and sturdy. A decent connector with a watertight seal attaches to the AC unit and the other end can be connected to another string of lights. This connector also has a waterproof cover when not in use. I connected these lamps to an existing 12v AC system. There is a slight flicker at close range, but not very noticeable. For best results in an existing system, these lights should have an in-circuit 12 VAC to 12 VDC converter to eliminate flicker. If you plan to use the included 120VAC to 12VDC power supply, I would plan to increase the length of the cable to allow the power supply to be installed in a location protected from the weather. The company can supply pre-made extension cords with the plugs and sockets already made, or you can use any outside cord (looks like 22 or 20 gauge) and splice it together yourself.
