Benefits: Large white crystals (large is best for a silicate fill) absorbs well for 6 days when box is used by two cats. Because the product is white, areas of urine are easily visible, making it easier for you to tell when the box needs to be changed. Odor control is good over a 6 day period. (Less traces than small sugar-like silica crystals, which are a nightmare.) You can see these large crystals if you track them, making them easy to sweep. They don't scoop out urine-soaked areas with silica fill (solids only), so maintaining the box requires less effort than other types of fill. Urine soaks the litter from top to bottom, unlike clay and other litters which stay drier at the top and urine sinks to the bottom of the box. Litter is odorless. (Our cats refused to use flavored litter.) Odor control is so good with this unscented litter for 6 days that flavored litter isn't needed, and flavored litter can smell bad when the urine is in the box anyway. We intend to continue using this brand with these larger crystals. For us it's the best litter we've ever used and we've tried all types as cats only need to scoop up solid food as cats use a box and good odor suppression for 6 days! Again, fewer traces than other types of fillers. Disadvantages: With 2 cats, the litter is completely soaked with urine after 6 days and the cats refuse to use it - wet feet! so it doesn't last as long as advertised. (We accept this limitation on the litter's shelf life due to its ease of handling and odor control over a 6-day period.) Because these little "pebbles" are rougher on their paws than some other types of litter, our cats tend not to to cover you. Your solids are as much as leftover clay, so we'll scoop the solids as they come.
