The universal charging adapter says it fits the Dell Inspiron 5000 series, but it doesn't have to be. The plug to connect to a laptop has two sizes and I didn't know. With the smaller connector in the laptop, this was correct. I don't think it's a tight fit, but it seems to be the case with every adapter I swap out every year. You have to be very careful when transporting the laptop, the cable can be pulled out easily despite the right size. Now I just order 2 at a time, the price is so low that if the cable starts to snap I have a spare on hand.
