I love these. They are super soft. My hips are about 39" and I got the small/medium. They are stretchy, but they don't seem like they'd stretch enough to get a lot bigger than me. If I was 42 or more inches, I think I'd get the larger size. The waist band is the only thing that could be better. It's not really a wide waist band - it has a 1/4" of elastic at the top, and the rest of the waistband is just the same fabric as the leggings. I guess I was expecting a wide band of elastic at the top. It IS comfortable though. I highly recommend!
