The lens is convenient for artistic shooting, the pictures are beautiful and voluminous. Under normal lighting, there are no problems. With standard indoor lighting, a compromise begins between shutter speed and depth of field. Indoors, without an external flash, it’s very difficult to get a clear overview frame with your hands. I’m trying to understand this lens as a regular one on the D700, after 50 F1.8 the lens is difficult, it doesn’t work for less than a minute for a handheld frame in the room. Autofocus is fast and accurate when there is enough light. When there is little light, compared to 50 F1.8D, autofocus misses more, more precisely at 50 it never misses at all, and at 35m you need to focus on contrasting details. For example, if you shoot a monotonous door in room lighting, then you need to aim at the door handle, in other places AF will miss in half the cases. Bottom line: Lens - for artistic shots on the street or if you are in no hurry when shooting indoors.
