We bought this for our 5 year old daughter to use with the iPad she uses. The sleep function works if you make sure the lid is completely flat. If moved more than 1/8 inch, iPad will wake up. This is really unacceptable for a child, even with a magnetic closure. Also, we found that the opening for the charging cable isn't big enough to accommodate the thickness of the charging cable, you have to either slide the cover aside (which a five year old can't do on his own) or partially remove the cover to insert the cable (which in the end defeating Purpose B, we used a rotary tool to enlarge the hole a bit.Aside from these issues, the lid feels pretty solid and holds the iPad well for viewing.
