Review on BAOYOUNI Expandable Organizer Adjustable Bookshelf by Roy Bush

Difficult and flimsy to store and organize

I have Cape Cod and my upstairs closet faces the street on one side so there is a lot of unused space that is impractical to reach. I felt that installing a tension rod just before the start of the evening would allow me to store out of season clothes there better and have more hanging space. When I saw this double rail with a shelf on top I thought it would be great as I could also place some things on the shelf. But as most other reviews say, it's very difficult to stretch the bars to the right length, hold them firmly in place, and turn the screws to tighten them. I finally got it back in place after a long time fiddling with it. I started putting clothes on it along with a 6 shelf storage bag that I put all my sweaters in. I had 13 summer jackets and dresses hanging on a shelf. Poles and about 6 sweaters in a hang bag when it all collapsed. That's what made it so difficult! I was thinking of just returning the shelf but decided to make it work again. This time I measured out the length needed, attached the rods and started angling them until they were "sticky" to the wall, then used a rubber mallet to gently hammer them in until they were even and strong. attached to the wall. I'm still not entirely sure if it will hold up and I put a shoebox under a hanging storage bag so all the weight doesn't pull on the bar and I plan to tie a piece of string and tie it to it. rod and attach it to a nail that I'm going to insert into the top of the top part to give it more support. It takes a lot of effort to get this thing working, but if you have the patience and someone to help (which I didn't) I'd suggest giving it a try. Just do not overload it, it is clearly not suitable for that.

Pros
  • Very good value
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
