I have a 6 kg Yorkie, quite energetic. I wanted the porter to help him calm down when we have company and keep him close to me without the risk of stepping on him (he gets quite clingy when there are many other pedestrians around). I was afraid that my idea with the carrier would fail because it is so energetic, but my fears were unfounded. He settled right into this carrier! The material is dense and very comfortable in my opinion. The blue part is fleece or at least fleece-like. The carrier is comfortable for me to carry and rests squarely on my hip while I am sitting in the carrier. My husband tried it on and found it comfortable too (although he still thinks I'm crazy for buying a "baby" dog carrier). All pets are different but I would recommend a carrier as it pays to find out if it suits you and your pet.
