Waterproof does not mean it does not need sheltering.

First thing out of the box, we tested the volume. Wow it has volume! Easy to install good looking sad. Our only disappointment was, it says waterproof but when you get it the instructions will tell you to have it under a sheltered area, or "covered”. Not really too surprised but I wish they had said that in the description before purchasing.
