A few years ago I tried to learn how to draw with pencils but I refused because I hated hard tips. I saw this starter kit and decided to see if I could have a better experience with Japanese springs than cheap speedball kits. Needless to say, these Nikko nibs totally blew my mind! They're stiff enough to create the sharp lines you get with multi-line pens, but flexible enough to create thicker, more expressive lines with more pressure. If you want more expressive lines but have trouble with brush tips, then Japanese G tip will be your new best friend! I recommend this starter kit to anyone wanting to experiment with Japanese nibs. The only thing I'd like to change is to suggest a pen cap instead of a manga paper pattern (which I've never tried to fully reveal). It's important to note that like most pen tips, they have a clear anti-corrosion coating that you must remove before you can use them. You can clean it with nail polish remover (DO NOT burn the coating, it may damage the feathers!)
