Great for a large 5 year old (K grade). My kid loved it and wore it with pajamas to keep warm at home and called it his "pajama top" because it was as cozy and warm as pajamas. It is lined so its weight is medium to thick. I love that it's a cute unisex design so I'll love it no matter what gender the kids are. The buffalo plaid pattern is very modern and rustic. cool and a bit like Christmas but not too "festive" seasonal. I wear this model without any problems at any time of the year when the weather calls for it. It's nice enough for a gift and the price seems good for what you get. I think it's good value for money. Overall I would recommend it.
