Review on Dorman 630-340 Drive Axle Shaft: High-Performance Replacement for Toyota Models by Paul Bijeaux

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect fit for 1st generation 2000-2003 Tundra Access Cab.

I kept getting conflicting information as to whether this would fit my 2003 Tundra Limited Access Cab Truck. Let me clear up any confusion. A few hours ago I just successfully replaced a bent drivers side axle shaft on my Tundra with this Dorman 630-340 axle shaft kit. It fits perfectly. In the first photo, my old shaft is about to be removed. The second photo shows a Dorman shaft, and the third photo shows a newly installed shaft with the wheel bolted on. I wanted to take more photos of the steps between the second and third photos, but I was seriously greasy and didn't want to touch my phone. The kit includes two clamps (inner and outer), a new oil seal, bearings and a rubber boot. I didn't use fixatives because. After pushing out the two existing ones, I simply swapped out the existing inner retainer, which had a small wear line from contact with the oil seal, with an outer one that served only as a bearing spacer. and was absolutely clean. Everything fell onto the new axle shaft without any problems. He fitted perfectly into the body again. I bled the brakes and everything works great. So it works with the Tundra Access cab or the standard 1st generation cab. I cannot vouch for double cab models so your mileage may vary.
