For the price of a booth this is AWESOME. I bought many different shoe racks for my wife. I like this one because it's VERY strong and durable and will hold a lot of shoes. And it may or may not fit 50 pairs of shoes depending on what kind of shoes it is. The rows where my big shoes are placed have fewer pairs (4 pairs in a row) than the rows where my wife's tennis shoes, heels and flip flops are (5 pairs total). Sure, it might be a little stronger than any cheaper product, but that keeps the price down. And the only way to make the shelf stronger is to use wood or metal. CONS - the only problem will be in relation to the women who buy it. If you are buying this for the new PLATFORM HEELS that many are now wearing you may be disappointed. Many of them do not fit on shelves, depending on the height of the heel and the height of the platform. Every shoe is different, so I can't just say that 4 inch platforms won't fit. To help you, I measured the height of the entrance. for each shelf and is 6 inches high. So if you measure the entire back of your shoe and it's over 6 inches tall, your shoe won't fit in the hallway. However, you have 2 options. If you only have 5 pairs, place them on the top shelf where you can place shoes of any size, including boots. Another option is to do the same as I did but only on the top two shelves (not counting the top shelf which has no top). The rod that connects each shelf together goes into the connector at the top and bottom of each shelf and goes in quite deep. So I just tucked it in the top and bottom slots, but not quite, and hence my top 2 shelves have a step-in height of 7 inches instead of the usual 6. So I basically put the top slot half way and an inch, for example fewer. and the bottom one has half an inch less room so I have an extra inch of clearance for this shelf. The shelf still holds and does not wobble. And I only did it on the top two shelves because of the technique. You will never make the bottom part weak because then the whole structure will collapse if collapse occurs. And the floor needs more strength because it can support the weight of whatever you put on it. But the top two layers generally have less weight to carry and therefore require less strength. But if you use the top 2 shelves and the last top shelf only for platform shoes, you can fit 15 pairs of them. I wouldn't recommend making more shelves taller to accommodate platform shoes. Platform heels can weigh a lot more than regular shoes because of this durable platform. I have uploaded photos showing how I adjusted the platform shoes and how you don't fully tuck each foot in. If you look at the photo you can see that the legs are not fully inserted (when fully inserted you can see the metal legs are almost touching at the top and bottom).
