WiFi streaming - with a BIG GIANT star!

I feel I should have looked into this product more closely, but (in my defence) Samsung is very reluctant to state which apps are supported by which devices. So, for the record, THIS PRODUCT, unlike (I think) every other Blu-ray player they sell, DOES NOT have the option to download additional apps from their App Store (http://www.samsung.com/us /appstore /browse). It ONLY offers the following 13 apps: Netflix, YouTube, Hulu Plus, Pandora, Vudu, Rhapsody, Hot List, Flickr, Cinema Now, Facebook,

Worth the investment and great little player

My wife and I bought this to replace the PlayStation3 as our home theater Blu-ray player. The PS3 will work fine, it will just be very noisy as the fan is running all the time. It was annoying, especially in the quieter parts of the movie where you could hear the fan hum. As for the player itself, it worked great. I connected it to my 55" Samsung Smart TV via an Onkyo TX-NR 636 with Energy Take Classic speakers. The user interface is easy to navigate and the player is very quiet when playing…

Audio sync is frustrating

I have two Blu-ray/Streaming players. Both he and the Sony BDP-S590 3D Blu-ray Disc Player with Wi-Fi have their own nuances. But Sony is much better. Here are a few reasons. Sony Pros: 1) It has Revain streaming 2) Netflix interface is more intuitive 3) BDP/TV dual remote control is convenient, quick turn on subtitle Sony Cons: 1) "Internet content" always seems to be preloaded. It can run the Netflix app. During the download, you will be forced to click "OK" to complete the download. Why…

This device has been working well for a number of years now.

I have two of these, one from Revain and one from a retail store. Both work pretty well. The image quality is excellent and they load quickly. They play all my DVDs and BluRay discs perfectly. The only issues I have with these devices are: (1) The WiFi connection to my home network doesn't seem to work as well when the device is in my family room on the first floor. At first I thought the problem was with NetFlix, but I don't seem to have any trouble connecting to NetFlix from my laptop over a…

EDIT 01/30/2015 I just discovered something AMAZING. I would raise my rating to six stars if I could. THIS PLAYER HAS MULTI-DISC STORAGE! I was watching a Christmas movie when my brother came to visit, I stopped the movie at 0:55:15. My brother brought The Addams Family, so I threw away my Christmas movie and we saw The Addams Family, then I threw it away and gave it back to him. Two days later I turned my Christmas movie back on and it continued playing at 0:55:15 even though the player had…

  • Not the best

I'm editing this review because I've got life to add now. This car lived a little less than 2.5 years. I have an old Sony DVD player that has been working great since the late 1990's. The disappointing performance (lifetime + issues mentioned below) makes me not buy another Samsung in the future. Used it yesterday. Today neither the menu nor the picture are simply deleted. Checked our inputs and outputs, checked the hard drives, everything works fine. The power turned him inside out. Nothing…
