Review on Samsung BD F5700 Wi Fi Blu Ray Player by Justin Early

Revainrating 2 out of 5

AMAZING FEATURE: It remembered where I was on the interrupted disc even though I was playing another disc between them - THIS IS GREAT

EDIT 01/30/2015 I just discovered something AMAZING. I would raise my rating to six stars if I could. THIS PLAYER HAS MULTI-DISC STORAGE! I was watching a Christmas movie when my brother came to visit, I stopped the movie at 0:55:15. My brother brought The Addams Family, so I threw away my Christmas movie and we saw The Addams Family, then I threw it away and gave it back to him. Two days later I turned my Christmas movie back on and it continued playing at 0:55:15 even though the player had been off for the last 36 hours. Hello Samsung, this is a great feature. I love it. I wonder how many discs it can remember (but I won't test it). I STILL AGREE WITH MY PREVIOUS REVIEW: This is a great turntable. I have it and my Revain Fire TV connects to my mere 40" HD LCD TV, giving me the choice of streaming movies and shows or popping in one of the discs from my growing collection. Also, since it's Wi-Fi, I can stream content through a Blu-Ray player, so I can move it to another TV in the house and stream content to two different TVs. I haven't had any problems with it other than having to learn a fairly complex remote control. It's the first disc player remote I've ever seen with over 44 buttons. (She's 45.) But I can't cut him in my ratings for that because I'm sure a lot of younger users are more willing to get to grips with complex technology than I am (I'm 62 and consider myself fairly tech-savvy, but there are a few things to learn). UPDATE 2015: I am now 63 years old. I still haven't explored more than a few buttons on this remote, but I found that the player itself has an eject button. I just didn't notice it because I left the plastic circle in place covering the power supply, eject button, etc. BUT I found a good trick. I have two monitors connected to my computer. I'm currently using my ASUS HDMI monitor in VGA mode with my computer, so I've now connected a Blu-ray to its HDMI port so I can view Blu-ray discs from the side of my right eye while I'm with my one and a half eyes work on the other computer. John

Lasted 2.5 years. Cannot handle a "hidden" wifi network; ok as a dvd/blu ray player
