My daughter is allergic to nickel. A few days after she started cross-stitching, her fingers began to turn red and peel off. We never thought that the needle in the kit could be a problem. These fully gold-plated needles have done their job. She switched and her fingers immediately began to heal (with overnight care with Cetaphil cream). She works on size 11 Aida canvas, so the needles are standard cross-stitch size and the eye is big enough for cotton embroidery floss but thin enough to slide across the fabric.
