Review on Pearl IZUMi Barrier Convertible X Large by Oscar Colangelo

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Size varies by product, additional exchange fee

I'm 5'7", 140 lbs, waist 31", chest 36". I have a small PI vest with a slim fit .I wanted the jacket to sit somewhere between tight and slightly loose, the latter being similar to my Novara reversible jacket so I ordered a medium size.Length.By buttoning up the jacket and then pulling the chest fabric out I got 7-9 inches extra fabric left over. I love my jackets to be a little loose, but wasn't expecting to wear a tent. And the sleeves are 35" long. 2. Revain charges an additional $11 for medium to small changes. 3. The Fabric of the sleeve is on the thin side, so riding in temperatures below 40 degrees is not suitable because wind chill comes in. 4. Not overly enthusiastic about the rear vertical zipper Easy to open but difficult to close [Zipper at l ose material. PROS: See update ************************* ******************** * ********************************* ************** * ** *********************************** 2/4/2013 *UPDATE* Picked up a bike for a ride this morning a cool medium to high cloudy temperature of 50. 1. Small fits like small, not tight and a little loose [ideal] but sleeves are 3 inches longer than they should be. 2. Very tight armpit fit that disappears after some time. These are not sleeves, but an armpit seam. 3. Extra [thick] front panel fabric for wind/blocking. 4. Sleeve fabric is thinner and doesn't do much. for windbreak/wind blocking, more like windbreak.5. Elastic waistband and many pockets. Overall good but expensive. Would give this converted jacket a 3.5*.
