Review on πŸͺ’ Ultimate Precision: Feather Double Edge Shaving Razor - Unmatched Quality & Perfection by Clare Thoms

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great experience! I highly recommend the product!

. I'm an African American who was looking for an alternative to shaving to combat shaving and the common skin irritations that often annoy men of color... Like most people for whom I Gillette and Schick razors for years and spent hundreds of dollars annually on a new motorized razor they developed. Despite paying exorbitant amounts of money for "power razors," I've often found shaving to be a dreadful task that I had to do in a hurry...only to end up with razor bumps that kept popping up despite my best efforts. The cost of Gillette a Chic replacement cartridges is AMAZING! I mean really $15 or more for a set of FIVE?! If the cost isn't a deterrent to you, then the quality of the shave should... To my knowledge these razors "pull/pull" the hair follicles out of your skin [increasing the likelihood of skin irritation and roughness]. After some research I learned the ART of shaving with a traditional safety razor. YouTube is your friend, use it!] . Of course, like most beginners, I was worried about shredding my face with a blade, but believe it or not, the process isn't bad at all... the learning curve wasn't really difficult for me. The Feather Safety razor is easy to use. [Loading screw mechanism] Easy to use. The starter blades I chose were the Astra brand [pack of 100 blades for $10]. I also bought a shaving bowl and a set of shaving brushes, also entry-level [approx. $9 per set]... Overall I have to say my shave was GREAT! Once you're on your way to making shaving an experience and not a chore, there's no turning back! This shaving experience requires you to adjust the process to suit your lifestyle and skin type. For example, if you have thick hair like mine, you may need a little more prep time [ie heating and oiling the beard 1.] In my case, the morning shave consists of the following: 1. Wash your face with a moisturizing toner2. Fill the sink with HOT water and soak the blade3. While the blade is soaking, lather in a soap dish4. Coat and shave face [shave beard in 2 passes]5. Wash your face and apply a lubricating moisturizer [I use shea butter and tea tree anti-bump cream]. Break free from the Gillette/Schick heist... you won't regret it!
