Review on High Sierra Access Backpack Mercury by Christine Fugleberg

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Poor zippers, narrow main compartment

This backpack was meant for high school but turned out to be the worst backpack I have ever bought. The zippers have protective flaps which makes opening/closing very difficult. The padded laptop area in the main compartment takes up most of this compartment, leaving little space for folders/books. The width of the second largest compartment is approximately the same as the available width of the main compartment, but has no inserts at the bottom. Not very suitable for heavy books. The backpack has a large volume, but that is due to the height - when I put a textbook in it for university, about 1/3 of the height stayed up. So if you use this backpack for books, you might be left with a lot of vertical space. Finally, the shoulder straps seem to rub against the neck due to some odd flaps in that area. I ended up buying my kid a Samsonite Xenon 2 backpack, well padded with sliding zippers, comfortable shoulder straps and a very wide main compartment.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Long wait
