While I'm not a fan of the Mate3 that powers this inverter, the inverter itself CANNOT be ANYTHING better. Extremely reliable and with many configuration options to adapt it to your specific needs. I use mine as a large backup UPS for our house. I connected all critical circuits to an auxiliary panel connected to an inverter. Grid power is the primary source and simply flows through the inverter, powering the secondary panel 99.999% of the time. When the utility power is cut off, the inverter immediately transfers the source to the batteries. Until recently I lived in Oklahoma, where there were many storms that caused flickering electricity. This saved my electronics and allowed me to continue watching the news when tornadoes were heading towards the city. I didn't have to run the generator just to compensate for the flicker. In fact the generator was never needed except once when we had an extended outage of around 12 hours. When my batteries ran out I just charged them up with the generator and then turned them off and slept peacefully with no noise. Ideal attitude. I now live in Georgia where storms and electrical issues are not as common, but I still set up the system the same way. I like it. Another thing I've done in the past is schedule the power down. During the summer months we had a billing schedule that made using the mains electricity more expensive from 2pm to 7pm. So I went into the settings and instructed the system to keep my critical circuits on battery during those hours and that helped save me some money. Ultimately I didn't take this approach as charging the batteries wasn't cost effective, but it does underscore the inverter's ability to do pretty much anything you want it to do within reason.
