Prior to purchase I received an estimate of $1400 for a local contractor to install their bypass system. I bought this from Revain for less than $200 and bought about $100 worth of additional fittings and ducting in nearby Lowes. I took a few extra steps such as installing a new back box for the 24v transformer. I didn't use a poppet valve but bought a Shark-Bite valve and cut off the 3/4" hot water line next to the water heater (since I have a heat pump and hot water is recommended for heat pumps). worries about water usage but it's only "wastes" water when it's running, which hasn't been a common occurrence until now Dry sinuses during cold and flu season.
